If your family has a vacation, holiday, or another special occasion that deviates from your regularly repeating parenting schedule, the Holiday tool on the OurFamilyWizard Calendar can help you denote those exceptions clearly and easily. Holidays will override the existing parenting schedule.

Using Holidays

If you'd like to define access to a common or custom holiday on the calendar, you must first select Calendar from the main navigation menu.

  1. On the left side of the calendar, click the button titled Holiday
  2. The holiday menu will display common holidays along with the dates and guardian assigned to those holidays, as well as custom holidays created by either you or your co-parent.

  1. Click the Assign Common Holidays or Assign Custom Holidays buttons located on the left side of the menu.
  2. Select the year in which the holiday occurs using the Holidays for drop-down menu.
  3. Assign a guardian for each individual holiday using the drop-down menus in the Guardian columns. 
  4. Click the Save button located at the top left corner of the menu.

Creating Custom Holidays

Custom holidays are a great way to denote events unique to your family such as birthdays, graduations, or even family vacations. Custom holidays can be created, edited, or deleted by either parent.

  1. In the holiday menu, select the New Custom Holiday button.
  2. Input the holiday's details, including a name, begins/ends date and time, the guardian responsible for the children on the holiday, and for how many years the holiday should repeat.
  3. Click the Save button located at the top left corner of the menu.
 
Edit or Delete a Custom Holiday

Editing or Deleting Holidays

If you'd like to edit or delete a custom holiday, you must first select Calendar from the main navigation menu.

  1. Click the Holiday button located to the left of the calendar.
  2. Click the Assign Custom Holidays button.
  3. Select the year in which the holiday occurs using the Holidays for drop-down menu.
  4. You can choose to edit any of your custom holidays by selecting the Edit icon next to the date of the holiday.
    1. To edit the holiday, make your adjustments then click Save.
    2. To delete the holiday, click Delete.
  5. Once back on the Assign Custom Holidays screen, click Save. Your changes will be made to the holidays in question, and you can now exit the Holidays menu by clicking Close.
